This research project aims to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in revolutionizing information retrieval processes in libraries to enhance efficiency and user experience. The study focuses on understanding how AI technologies, such as machine learning algorithms and natural language processing, can be leveraged to automate and optimize information retrieval tasks. The research begins with a comprehensive review of existing literature on AI applications in library and information science, highlighting the current trends, challenges, and opportunities. By synthesizing the findings from various studies, this review chapter sets the foundation for understanding the state of the art in AI-driven information retrieval systems.
