As technology continues to advance, the field of Library and Information Science is undergoing significant transformations. This research study aims to explore the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on information retrieval in libraries. The integration of AI technologies, such as machine learning and natural language processing, has the potential to revolutionize how libraries manage and provide access to information resources. This study will investigate the current state of AI adoption in libraries, identify the benefits and challenges associated with AI implementation, and assess the implications of AI on information retrieval practices. The research will begin with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on AI applications in library settings. This will provide a foundation for understanding the various AI technologies being utilized and the potential impact on information retrieval processes. The study will also examine case studies of libraries that have successfully integrated AI tools into their operations to enhance information discovery and access. Methodologically, a mixed-methods approach will be employed to gather data from library professionals, patrons, and AI experts. Surveys, interviews, and focus groups will be conducted to capture diverse perspectives on the use of AI in libraries and its effects on information retrieval.
