Digital preservation is a critical concern for academic libraries as they strive to ensure the long-term accessibility and usability of their digital collections. This research project investigates the implementation of digital preservation strategies in academic libraries through a case study approach. The study focuses on the challenges and opportunities faced by academic libraries in preserving digital materials and explores the strategies employed to address these challenges. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two conducts a comprehensive literature review, examining existing research on digital preservation strategies in academic libraries. The review covers topics such as digital obsolescence, preservation standards, best practices, and case studies of successful implementations. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling strategy, data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations. The chapter also discusses the selection criteria for the case study library and the process of data collection. In Chapter Four, the research findings are presented and discussed in detail. The chapter explores the digital preservation strategies implemented by the case study library, the challenges encountered during the implementation process, and the outcomes of these strategies.
