Abstract
The rapid growth of digital content in libraries has posed significant challenges in efficiently and effectively retrieving information. In response to this challenge, this research project explores the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques for enhancing information retrieval in digital libraries. The study aims to investigate how AI technologies, such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning, can be leveraged to improve the search and retrieval process in digital library systems. Chapter one provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. The literature review in chapter two examines ten key studies related to AI applications in information retrieval and digital libraries, highlighting their methodologies, findings, and contributions to the field. Chapter three outlines the research methodology, including the research design, data collection methods, AI algorithms used, and evaluation criteria. The methodology section also discusses the ethical considerations and limitations that may impact the research outcomes. In chapter four, the discussion of findings presents a detailed analysis of the results obtained from implementing AI techniques in information retrieval tasks. This chapter explores the effectiveness of AI models in improving search accuracy, relevance, and efficiency in digital library environments.
