Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has catalyzed a significant shift towards remote work, prompting organizations to reevaluate their human resource practices and strategies to ensure sustained employee engagement and performance in this new era. This research investigates the impact of remote work on employee engagement and performance, focusing on the role of HR practices and strategies in mitigating challenges and maximizing opportunities. Through a comprehensive literature review, ten key themes related to remote work, employee engagement, and performance were identified, providing a theoretical foundation for the study. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews with HR professionals and employees from diverse industries. Chapter four discusses the findings in detail, highlighting the varying perceptions and experiences of remote work among employees and the strategies employed by HR departments to enhance engagement and performance. The study reveals that effective communication, technological support, flexible work arrangements, and well-being initiatives are crucial for maintaining high levels of engagement and performance in a remote work setting. The conclusion synthesizes the research findings, emphasizing the importance of proactive HR practices in adapting to the challenges of remote work and fostering a culture of engagement and productivity. Overall, this research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on remote work and provides practical insights for organizations seeking to optimize their HR strategies in the post-pandemic era.
