Project Abstract

Abstract
This research study investigates the impact of probiotics on gut health and immune function in older adults. The aging process is often associated with changes in gut microbiota composition and immune system function, leading to increased susceptibility to infections and chronic diseases. Probiotics, live microorganisms that confer health benefits to the host when consumed in adequate amounts, have gained attention for their potential to modulate gut microbiota and enhance immune responses. The objectives of this study are to evaluate the effects of probiotic supplementation on gut health parameters, such as gut microbiota composition and intestinal barrier function, and immune function markers, including inflammatory cytokine levels and immune cell activities, in older adults.
