This research project delves into the analysis of sustainable agricultural practices adopted by smallholder farmers in rural communities, aiming to identify key challenges, assess the effectiveness of current practices, and propose recommendations for improvement. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of terms. The chapter sets the stage for understanding the importance of sustainable agricultural practices in rural communities and the specific focus on smallholder farmers. Chapter Two encompasses an extensive literature review, examining existing studies, theories, and best practices related to sustainable agricultural practices in rural areas. The chapter explores various aspects such as agroecology, organic farming, permaculture, and other sustainable farming methods that have been successfully implemented by smallholder farmers globally. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, including research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures.
