Abstract
This research study aims to investigate the impact of sustainable agriculture practices on rural household income and food security. Sustainable agriculture practices have gained significant attention globally due to their potential to address food insecurity issues while promoting environmental sustainability. The study will focus on rural communities where agriculture is a primary livelihood source, with a specific emphasis on how implementing sustainable practices can enhance household income levels and food security status. The research will be conducted using a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data on sustainable agriculture practices, household income, and food security indicators. A sample of rural households will be selected using stratified random sampling to ensure representation across different socioeconomic backgrounds. Chapter 1 of the study will provide an introduction to the research topic, background information on sustainable agriculture, the problem statement highlighting the significance of the study, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definitions of key terms. Chapter 2 will present a thorough literature review, covering ten key areas related to sustainable agriculture practices, household income, and food security. Chapter 3 will outline the research methodology, including details on the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. The chapter will also discuss ethical considerations and potential limitations of the methodology. In Chapter 4, the findings of the research will be presented and discussed in detail, focusing on the impact of sustainable agriculture practices on rural household income and food security. The study will analyze the relationship between the adoption of sustainable agriculture practices and changes in household income levels and food security status. Factors influencing the adoption of sustainable practices will also be explored, along with challenges faced by rural households in implementing these practices successfully. Chapter 5 will conclude the research study by summarizing the key findings, implications for policy and practice, and recommendations for future research. The research aims to contribute valuable insights into the potential benefits of sustainable agriculture practices for improving rural household income and food security, ultimately promoting sustainable development in rural communities.
