This research project focuses on the assessment of sustainable farming practices aimed at enhancing livelihoods in rural communities. The study recognizes the critical role of agriculture in providing food security, income generation, and overall well-being for rural populations. However, challenges such as climate change, limited resources, and unsustainable practices threaten the livelihoods of farmers in these communities. The objective of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of sustainable farming practices in addressing these challenges and improving livelihoods. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. The introduction sets the stage for understanding the importance of sustainable farming practices in rural communities and the need for assessment and implementation. Chapter Two encompasses a comprehensive literature review that examines existing studies, theories, and practices related to sustainable farming in rural areas. The review explores various sustainable farming practices such as agroforestry, organic farming, conservation agriculture, and integrated pest management. It also addresses the potential benefits and challenges associated with adopting these practices in rural communities. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, including research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures.
