The impact of colonialism on indigenous cultures in Africa has been a subject of intense scholarly inquiry, with a focus on understanding the lasting effects of colonization on cultural identities and practices. This research delves into the specific case of Nigeria to explore how colonial rule influenced and reshaped indigenous cultures in the region. Through an interdisciplinary approach drawing from history, anthropology, and cultural studies, this study aims to unravel the multifaceted dimensions of colonial impact on Nigerian cultures. The introduction sets the stage by providing a background to the study, outlining the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the research. It also defines key terminologies essential for understanding the study. Chapter Two delves into a comprehensive review of relevant literature, examining existing scholarship on colonialism and its effects on indigenous cultures in Africa, with a specific focus on Nigeria. Chapter Three presents the research methodology, detailing the approach, research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures employed in this study.
