This research study examines the effects of colonialism on indigenous cultures in British and French colonies in Africa, focusing on the comparative analysis of the cultural transformations that occurred under the colonial rule of these two major European powers. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical research methodology, this study aims to shed light on the historical processes and legacies of colonialism that continue to shape indigenous cultures in Africa today. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two delves into a detailed literature review, exploring existing scholarly works on the impact of colonialism on indigenous cultures in Africa, with a specific focus on British and French colonies.
