This study delves into the impact of colonialism on indigenous societies, focusing on a comparative analysis between Africa and Southeast Asia. By examining historical accounts, scholarly works, and primary sources, this research seeks to unveil the multifaceted effects of colonial rule on these regions. Chapter 1 sets the stage by providing an introduction to the study, presenting the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of terms. The introduction contextualizes the research within the broader framework of colonial history and its implications for indigenous communities in Africa and Southeast Asia. Chapter 2 comprises a comprehensive literature review that explores existing scholarship on colonialism and its impact on indigenous societies. Through the examination of ten key themes, this chapter synthesizes diverse perspectives and theoretical frameworks to provide a nuanced understanding of the subject matter.
