The legacy of colonialism continues to reverberate through the cultural landscapes of many indigenous communities across the globe. This research project delves into the profound impact of colonial rule on the indigenous cultures of Africa and Latin America, offering a comparative analysis to highlight the similarities and differences in the colonial experiences of these regions. By examining the historical narratives, social structures, and cultural practices of indigenous populations in Africa and Latin America, this study aims to shed light on the lasting repercussions of colonial domination on these communities. Chapter One introduces the research topic, providing a comprehensive overview of the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and key definitions relevant to understanding the impact of colonialism on indigenous cultures in Africa and Latin America. The chapter sets the stage for the subsequent chapters by outlining the fundamental framework within which the research is situated. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review encompassing ten key themes related to colonialism, indigenous cultures, and historical developments in Africa and Latin America. Drawing on a wide range of scholarly sources, this chapter synthesizes existing knowledge and theories to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and inform the research methodology adopted in this study.
