Educational management encompasses a wide range of task areas that are crucial for the effective functioning of educational institutions. This research aims to explore and analyze the key task areas of educational management to enhance understanding and provide insights for educational leaders and administrators. The task areas of educational management can be broadly classified into planning, organizing, directing, and controlling. Planning involves setting goals, defining strategies, and establishing policies to achieve the desired outcomes. Organizing focuses on structuring the resources, such as human capital, finances, and facilities, to support the goals and plans of the institution. Directing involves leading and motivating staff, students, and other stakeholders to work towards the common objectives. Controlling includes monitoring progress, evaluating performance, and making necessary adjustments to ensure success. Within these broad categories, specific task areas include curriculum development, staff recruitment and development, financial management, facilities maintenance, student discipline, community relations, and strategic planning. Curriculum development is a critical task that involves designing educational programs, courses, and materials to meet the needs of students and align with educational standards. Staff recruitment and development are essential for building a qualified and motivated workforce that can deliver high-quality education. Financial management involves budgeting, resource allocation, and financial planning to ensure the sustainability of the institution. Facilities maintenance is necessary to provide a safe and conducive environment for teaching and learning. Student discipline requires establishing and enforcing rules and policies to maintain order and promote a positive learning atmosphere. Community relations involve engaging with parents, community members, and external stakeholders to build support and partnerships for the institution. Strategic planning entails setting long-term goals, identifying priorities, and allocating resources to achieve the vision and mission of the institution. Effective educational management requires strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Educational leaders and administrators need to possess a deep understanding of the task areas of educational management and the ability to coordinate and integrate these tasks to achieve the goals of the institution. By examining and focusing on these key task areas, educational institutions can enhance their organizational effectiveness, promote student success, and contribute to the overall improvement of the education system.

INTRODUCTION

It is widely recognized and accepted that the quality of leadership always has some effect on the school effectiveness. The role of Educational Management in this regard can hardly be overemphasized. A head teacher, who should be an educational manager, is involved in the following important areas: overall school administration, the curriculum,leadership and human relations, community relations and working relationships. He or she strives to enforce traditions for efficiency, effectiveness and quality, and these should be reflected in the school life. In order to achieve this, the head teacher must have adequate academic and professional qualifications, a full knowledge of the methods and techniques of educational practice, sound knowledge of school finance, ability to understand the needs of the teaching staff, pupils, parents and the support staff.In a nutshell, the head teacher should have a good understanding of the school’s strengths and weaknesses. These are some of the things that we wish to enunciate in this paper. Before we delve into the task areas or duties incorporated into educational management, we shall begin by providing a definition of the enterprise.
