Abstract
Urban beautification programs are essential in enhancing the aesthetics and functionality of cities. This research project aims to investigate the perception of the urban beautification program in Ibadan, Nigeria. The study will explore the impact of the beautification efforts on the residents' quality of life, sense of community pride, and overall satisfaction with the city's appearance. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. Surveys will be conducted to gather quantitative data on the residents' perceptions of the beautification program, including their satisfaction levels, perceived benefits, and areas for improvement. In addition, focus group discussions and interviews will be conducted to delve deeper into the residents' experiences and perceptions of the program. By examining the perception of the urban beautification program in Ibadan, this research aims to provide valuable insights for urban planners, policymakers, and other stakeholders involved in city beautification efforts. The findings of the study can be used to assess the effectiveness of the current beautification program, identify areas for improvement, and inform future urban beautification initiatives in Ibadan and other similar cities. The study is important as it addresses the gap in the existing literature regarding the perception of urban beautification programs in African cities, particularly in the context of Ibadan. Understanding how residents perceive and experience urban beautification efforts is crucial for ensuring the sustainability and success of such programs. Overall, this research project contributes to the existing body of knowledge on urban beautification and city planning by focusing on the perception of residents in Ibadan, Nigeria. The findings of the study will have practical implications for urban development strategies, community engagement initiatives, and the promotion of a vibrant and aesthetically pleasing urban environment.
