The food industry generates a significant amount of food waste that poses environmental challenges. This research aims to explore the potential of utilizing food waste for the development of sustainable food packaging materials. The study investigates various food waste sources, such as fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds, and by-products from food processing, to identify their suitability for packaging material production. A comprehensive literature review is conducted to analyze previous studies on food waste utilization and sustainable packaging materials. The research methodology involves experimental approaches to extract and process food waste components for packaging material development. The findings reveal the feasibility of incorporating food waste-derived compounds into packaging materials, highlighting their potential benefits in terms of sustainability and environmental impact. The discussion of findings addresses the technical aspects, challenges, and opportunities associated with utilizing food waste for packaging materials in the food industry.
