The integration of digital technology into contemporary art practices has revolutionized the art world, presenting new opportunities and challenges for artists, curators, and audiences alike. This research explores the multifaceted impact of digital technology on various aspects of contemporary art, including creation, exhibition, curation, and reception. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study examines the historical background of digital art, the evolution of technology in art, and the theoretical frameworks that underpin digital art practices. The research methodology involves a qualitative approach, including interviews with artists, curators, and scholars, as well as analysis of digital artworks and exhibition practices. Chapter One provides the introduction to the research, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two offers a detailed literature review, encompassing ten key themes related to the impact of digital technology on contemporary art practices. These themes include the democratization of art production, the role of social media in art dissemination, the challenges of preserving digital art, and the impact of virtual reality on art experiences, among others. Chapter Three delves into the research methodology, outlining the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations of the study. This chapter also discusses the challenges and opportunities encountered during the research process, highlighting the complexities of studying a rapidly evolving field such as digital art.
