Microplastic pollution in coastal marine environments has become a significant environmental concern worldwide. This research project aims to assess the extent of microplastic pollution in coastal marine environments, investigate its sources, distribution patterns, and potential impacts on marine ecosystems. The study will employ a combination of field surveys, laboratory analyses, and data interpretation techniques to achieve its objectives. Chapter one provides an introduction to the research topic, highlighting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter two presents a comprehensive literature review covering ten key aspects related to microplastic pollution in coastal marine environments. The review will explore existing research, methodologies, findings, and gaps in knowledge to inform the current study. Chapter three outlines the research methodology, detailing the research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, laboratory analysis procedures, quality control measures, and data analysis techniques.
