This research project aims to assess the sustainable waste management practices in urban areas, focusing on the challenges, strategies, and potential solutions to improve waste management efficiency and environmental sustainability. The study will utilize a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods to gather comprehensive insights into the current waste management practices in urban settings. Chapter One of the research project provides an overview of the study, including the background of the research, problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of key terms. The introduction highlights the importance of sustainable waste management practices in urban areas and sets the context for the research. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review on sustainable waste management practices in urban areas. The review covers various aspects of waste management, including waste generation trends, collection systems, recycling and recovery processes, waste-to-energy technologies, and policy frameworks.
