Abstract
The effective management of waste in urban areas has become a critical challenge due to rapid urbanization and population growth. This research project aims to assess sustainable waste management practices in urban areas through a detailed case study. The study focuses on evaluating current waste management strategies, identifying key issues and challenges, and proposing sustainable solutions to address the growing waste problem. The research methodology includes a comprehensive literature review, data collection through surveys and interviews, and analysis of waste management practices in a selected urban area. The study also considers the environmental, social, and economic impacts of different waste management approaches to determine the most sustainable practices. Findings from the research reveal the importance of implementing integrated waste management systems that prioritize waste reduction, recycling, and resource recovery. The study also highlights the significance of community engagement and education in promoting sustainable waste practices among urban residents. Overall, this research contributes to the existing knowledge on sustainable waste management in urban areas and provides valuable insights for policymakers, urban planners, and waste management practitioners.
