Microplastics pollution in freshwater ecosystems has become a growing environmental concern due to its potential adverse effects on aquatic organisms and ecosystem health. This research project aims to assess the extent of microplastics pollution in freshwater environments and investigate its impact on aquatic organisms. The study will be conducted through a combination of field sampling, laboratory analysis, and data interpretation to provide a comprehensive understanding of the problem. The research will begin with a thorough review of the existing literature on microplastics pollution in freshwater ecosystems, including sources, distribution, and potential ecological consequences. This will serve as the foundation for the research methodology, which will involve sampling water, sediments, and biota from selected freshwater sites to quantify and characterize microplastics presence. Data analysis will focus on identifying the types, sizes, and concentrations of microplastics in the sampled environments, as well as assessing their potential bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms.
