The urbanization and industrialization processes have led to an exponential increase in waste generation, posing significant environmental and health challenges. Sustainable waste management practices are crucial in mitigating these challenges and promoting a cleaner and healthier urban environment. This research project focuses on the implementation of sustainable waste management practices in urban areas, aiming to analyze current waste management strategies, identify key challenges, and propose effective solutions for sustainable waste management. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, highlighting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. The chapter sets the foundation for understanding the importance of sustainable waste management practices in urban areas. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review, discussing ten key aspects related to sustainable waste management practices in urban areas. The literature review covers topics such as waste generation trends, existing waste management strategies, environmental impacts of improper waste disposal, and best practices for sustainable waste management. Chapter 3 outlines the research methodology employed in this study, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. The chapter provides insights into how the research was conducted to achieve the project objectives effectively. In Chapter 4, the findings of the research are presented and discussed in detail.
