Through an in-depth analysis of selected literary works, this research aims to uncover the ways in which postcolonial literature has impacted the development and evolution of contemporary African writing. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study and presenting the problem statement. It also sets out the objectives of the study, the limitations encountered during the research process, the scope of the study, the significance of the research, and the structure of the research. Definitions of key terms relevant to the study are also provided. Chapter Two comprises an extensive literature review that examines existing scholarship on postcolonial literature and contemporary African writing. This chapter critically evaluates relevant theories and concepts, identifies key themes and trends in the field, and highlights gaps in the literature that this research seeks to address.
