This research project delves into the exploration and analysis of postcolonial themes within contemporary African literature. Through a comprehensive review of selected literary works, this research seeks to uncover the various ways in which postcolonial themes are manifested in the narratives and characters created by African authors. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. This chapter sets the stage for the subsequent chapters by establishing the context and rationale for the study. Chapter Two consists of an in-depth literature review that critically analyzes existing scholarly works on postcolonial themes in African literature. This chapter examines key theoretical frameworks, historical contexts, and critical perspectives that have shaped the discourse around postcolonialism in African literary studies.
