This research project delves into the intricate exploration of postcolonial themes in contemporary African literature. The study aims to critically analyze the various manifestations of postcolonial themes in African literary works, examining how writers from diverse African contexts have engaged with and represented the legacy of colonialism and its impact on the African continent. Through an interdisciplinary approach that draws on literary theory, postcolonial studies, and African studies, the research investigates the ways in which African authors navigate issues of identity, power, resistance, and cultural hybridity in their literary creations. The project begins with a comprehensive introduction that sets the stage for the exploration of postcolonial themes in African literature. The background of the study provides a contextual overview of the historical and theoretical underpinnings of postcolonialism in the African literary landscape. The problem statement highlights the need to critically assess the complexities of postcolonial discourses as they intersect with contemporary African literary production. The objectives of the study outline the specific goals and research questions that guide the investigation, while the limitations and scope of the study clarify the boundaries and parameters of the research.
