This research project delves into the intricate relationship between history and literature within the context of postcolonial African fiction. Through an in-depth analysis of selected postcolonial African novels, this research seeks to explore how historical events shape literary works and how literature, in turn, offers unique perspectives on historical realities. Chapter One of the research provides a comprehensive introduction to the study, presenting the background of the research, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of key terms. This chapter sets the stage for the subsequent chapters, outlining the rationale and framework for the study. Chapter Two entails a detailed literature review, which critically examines existing scholarship on the intersection of history and literature in postcolonial African fiction. The review covers various theoretical frameworks, key concepts, and critical analyses that inform the research, providing a solid foundation for the study.
