Through a comprehensive analysis of selected literary texts, this study seeks to uncover the various strategies and techniques employed by African authors to portray the complexities of identity and belonging in a rapidly changing world. Chapter One provides an introductory overview of the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definitions of key terms. This chapter sets the foundation for the subsequent chapters by establishing the context and rationale for the study. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review that delves into existing scholarship on the representation of identity and belonging in African literature.
