Abstract
The rising cost of higher education has led to an increase in student loan debt, highlighting the importance of financial literacy education in helping students manage their finances effectively. This study investigates the impact of financial literacy education on student loan debt management in higher education. The research aims to address the gap in understanding how financial literacy education can empower students to make informed decisions regarding their student loans. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, presenting the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definitions of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review discussing ten key areas related to financial literacy education, student loan debt, and higher education. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the research design, population and sample selection, data collection methods, and data analysis techniques. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations, limitations, and validity and reliability measures. In Chapter Four, the findings from the research are discussed in detail, addressing seven key aspects related to the impact of financial literacy education on student loan debt management. The chapter presents the results of statistical analyses, thematic discussions, and case studies to provide a nuanced understanding of the research topic. Finally, Chapter Five offers a conclusion and summary of the research findings, highlighting the key implications for policy, practice, and future research. The study emphasizes the critical role of financial literacy education in equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage their student loan debt and achieve financial well-being. Overall, this research contributes to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence on the impact of financial literacy education on student loan debt management in higher education.
