Abstract
This research study aims to evaluate the impact of minimum wage laws on employment and income distribution. The topic of minimum wage laws has been a subject of debate among economists, policymakers, and the general public. Advocates argue that minimum wage laws help to uplift low-wage workers and reduce income inequality, while opponents contend that such laws lead to job losses and hinder economic growth. This study seeks to provide empirical evidence to shed light on the actual effects of minimum wage laws on employment levels and income distribution. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of labor market data with qualitative interviews with key stakeholders such as policymakers, business owners, and workers. The study will focus on a specific region or country where minimum wage laws have been recently implemented or adjusted to capture the immediate effects of such policy changes. The research methodology will involve collecting and analyzing data on employment levels, wage rates, and income distribution before and after the implementation of minimum wage laws. Statistical techniques such as regression analysis will be utilized to examine the relationship between minimum wage changes and employment outcomes. In addition, interviews and surveys will be conducted to gather qualitative insights on how different stakeholders perceive the impact of minimum wage laws on the labor market.
