This research aims to explore the impact of co-operative enterprises on sustainable development in rural communities, with a focus on identifying the various ways in which co-operatives contribute to the overall well-being and resilience of these communities. The study will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of economic indicators with qualitative assessment of social and environmental impacts. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of key terms.
