This research study investigates the impact of member participation on the financial performance of agricultural co-operatives. The significance of co-operatives in the agricultural sector cannot be overemphasized, as they play a crucial role in promoting economic development, empowering small-scale farmers, and enhancing food security. However, the success and sustainability of agricultural co-operatives largely depend on the level of member participation in decision-making processes and overall operations. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. The chapter sets the stage for understanding the importance of member participation in agricultural co-operatives and its potential impact on financial performance. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review that explores existing research and theories related to member participation in co-operatives, financial performance evaluation, and the relationship between the two variables.
