Sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) has gained increasing attention in recent years as businesses strive to integrate environmental, social, and economic considerations into their operations. This research focuses on the implementation of sustainable supply chain management practices in the retail industry, a sector with significant environmental and social impacts. The study aims to investigate the current state of SSCM practices in retail, identify challenges faced by retailers in implementing sustainability initiatives, and explore the benefits and opportunities associated with sustainable supply chain management. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the research. The chapter also defines key terms related to sustainable supply chain management in the retail context. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review on sustainable supply chain management practices in the retail industry. The chapter examines existing research on sustainability initiatives in retail supply chains, discusses key principles and frameworks of SSCM, and highlights best practices and case studies from leading retailers. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study. The chapter discusses the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures.
