Abstract
The establishment and management of a small-scale poultry business is a critical venture for individuals interested in animal husbandry and agribusiness. This research project focuses on Alpha Poultry Farm located in Emene, Enugu State, as a case study to explore the intricacies involved in setting up and running a successful poultry business. The study delves into the essential steps required to establish a small-scale poultry farm, including selecting suitable breeds, constructing appropriate housing facilities, and sourcing quality feeds. Furthermore, the research investigates the management practices implemented at Alpha Poultry Farm to ensure optimal productivity and profitability. This includes strategies for disease prevention, feeding schedules, and general care practices for the poultry birds. GENERAL BACKGROUND OF A SMALL SCALE POULTRY BUSINESS.

Today, thinking about Nigerian and theories instantly brings back to memory the agonizing and pitfall sight of kwashiorkor patients in Biafra during the lastNigeriawar.

As a matter of fact, the most of Nigerian families are today under fed and under nourished is no longer a secret. 1.1           GENERAL BACKGROUND TO THE SUBJECT MATTER.

1.2           PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SUBJECT MATTER.

Following the present trend in our economy today, whose the Nigerians faced by galloping inflation of the worst magnitude has turned into a mere tissue paper, thereby making it difficult for the average Nigerian to have enough protein intake (especially meat) in his daily meals it becomes all the more important / to look for ways of salvaging this ugly term hence my bold, step in researcher into ways of stepping up the quantity or rather amount of protein available for the intake of the average Nigerian in his meals through the establishment and management of a small scale Goatry at Alpha Farm.

Furthermore, it is my intention through this research to explain the husbandry of goats to layman in a simple and easy to learn from there by encouraging a lot of people to go into worthy venture

1.3           problem that the study will be concerned with solution

The Establishment and Management of a Small Scale Poultry at business is not only a fidicious task but also time and money consuming venture. Apart from the foregoing the project work will among other thing will be concerned with addressing such issue as.

A study of the possibility or otherwise of establishing a small scale business of this kind.

The financial involvement of the venture with regards to provision of all the relevant facilities conducive for rearing goats.

The management of both man and material resources to achieve the desired objective . this very much depends on the entrepreneurs. Wealth of experience in the field or his ability to employ and or engage those with such acclaim experience.

The project will also contend such issues as environmental government. Policy and the marketability or other wise of the end product. The forgoing issue if well addressed will create an enabling situation which can serve as a reference point to may would be a goat farmers.

As earlier mentioned see(1.2) one of the arms of this research work is to teach goat husbandry to the average layman in easy to understand manner hence the effort of this research would be complete it fail to point our or emulate the very main gain that one stands to reap from .
