Project Abstract

Abstract
This research study aims to investigate the impact of welfare schemes on the motivation of workers, with a specific focus on the Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) in Nigeria. The objective of this research is to evaluate how various welfare programs and initiatives implemented by ESBS influence the motivation levels of its employees, ultimately affecting their job performance and organizational commitment. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from ESBS employees at different hierarchical levels. The quantitative data will be analyzed using statistical techniques to identify correlations between welfare schemes and motivation levels, while the qualitative data will provide in-depth insights into the subjective experiences and perceptions of employees regarding the welfare programs. The research hypothesizes that a well-structured and effectively implemented welfare scheme positively impacts the motivation of workers at ESBS. It is expected that employees who perceive the welfare programs as adequate and beneficial will demonstrate higher levels of job satisfaction, engagement, and loyalty towards the organization. Additionally, the study aims to explore the specific aspects of welfare schemes that have the most significant influence on motivating employees, such as health benefits, training opportunities, work-life balance initiatives, and recognition programs. Findings from this research are expected to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the relationship between welfare schemes and employee motivation, particularly in the context of the broadcasting industry in Nigeria. The results will provide valuable insights for ESBS management and human resource practitioners to enhance their welfare programs strategically, aligning them with the needs and preferences of their workforce. Ultimately, this research seeks to highlight the importance of investing in employee welfare as a means to foster a motivated and productive workforce. By understanding the impact of welfare schemes on motivation, organizations like ESBS can create a positive work environment that nurtures employee well-being, satisfaction, and performance. The findings are anticipated to have practical implications for ESBS and other organizations looking to improve their employee motivation strategies for enhanced organizational success.
