Abstract
Climate change continues to be a pressing global issue, with significant implications for ecosystems and biodiversity. In the field of botany, understanding the effects of climate change on plant physiology and exploring adaptation strategies has become increasingly important. This research project aims to investigate how climate change influences various aspects of plant physiology and to identify the strategies that plants employ to adapt to changing environmental conditions. The study will begin with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on climate change impacts on plant physiology, including changes in photosynthesis, water use efficiency, and nutrient uptake. This literature review will provide a solid foundation for understanding the current state of knowledge in this field and highlight key research gaps that need to be addressed. The research methodology will involve field observations, laboratory experiments, and data analysis to assess the physiological responses of different plant species to simulated climate change scenarios. Various physiological parameters such as stomatal conductance, chlorophyll content, and growth rates will be measured to quantify the effects of changing environmental conditions on plant health and performance. The findings from this study will be discussed in detail in Chapter Four, where the results of the experiments will be analyzed and interpreted. The discussion will focus on the implications of the findings for plant ecology and conservation, as well as potential strategies for mitigating the negative impacts of climate change on plant physiology. In conclusion, this research project will contribute valuable insights into how climate change affects plant physiology and the adaptive mechanisms that plants employ to survive in changing environments. By increasing our understanding of these processes, we can better inform conservation efforts and management strategies to protect plant biodiversity in the face of ongoing climate change challenges.
