Project Abstract

<p> This project aims to investigate the role of plant secondary metabolites in plant defense against pathogens. Secondary metabolites, such as phenolics, alkaloids, terpenoids, and flavonoids, are chemical compounds produced by plants that play important roles in defense against herbivores, pathogens, and environmental stresses. Understanding the specific mechanisms by which these metabolites contribute to plant defense is crucial for developing sustainable strategies for disease management. In this study, we will examine the production of secondary metabolites in response to pathogen infection and evaluate their effects on pathogen growth and virulence.
