Architectural firms play a crucial role in shaping the built environment in Nigeria. This study aims to conduct a critical examination of the practice characteristics of architectural firms in Nigeria to understand the key factors influencing their operations. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with architectural professionals and quantitative surveys of architectural firms across different regions in Nigeria. The study will explore various practice characteristics such as firm size, structure, project types, client relationships, design processes, and use of technology within architectural firms. By analyzing these factors, the research aims to provide insights into the current trends and challenges faced by architectural firms in Nigeria. Understanding the practice characteristics of architectural firms is essential for identifying areas of improvement and fostering growth within the industry. The qualitative component of the research will involve in-depth interviews with architects, project managers, and other professionals working in architectural firms. These interviews will delve into the daily operations of firms, project management strategies, collaboration within teams, and the integration of sustainable design practices.
