This research project focuses on the revitalization of historic urban spaces through the implementation of adaptive reuse and sustainable design practices. The preservation and adaptive reuse of historic buildings and spaces present unique opportunities to enhance the cultural and architectural heritage of cities while promoting sustainable development. This study aims to investigate the challenges and opportunities associated with revitalizing historic urban spaces, explore the best practices in adaptive reuse and sustainable design, and propose strategies for effectively integrating these approaches into urban revitalization projects. The research begins with an introduction that provides background information on the significance of historic urban spaces, the challenges they face, and the potential benefits of adaptive reuse and sustainable design practices. The problem statement highlights the need for sustainable approaches to urban development that preserve historical integrity and promote environmental stewardship. The objectives of the study are to identify key issues in revitalizing historic urban spaces, analyze successful case studies of adaptive reuse and sustainable design, and develop recommendations for future projects.
