In response to this pressing issue, this research project aims to design sustainable and affordable housing solutions for urban slums. The study will focus on leveraging innovative architectural design principles, sustainable construction materials, and community participation to address the housing needs of slum dwellers. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, delving into the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definitions of key terms. The chapter sets the foundation for understanding the importance of developing sustainable and affordable housing solutions for urban slums. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that examines existing research and practices related to sustainable housing design, affordable housing solutions, urban slums, community-driven development, and sustainable construction materials.
