Abstract
This research project delves into the exploration of sustainable design strategies for urban housing developments. Given the pressing need for environmentally conscious and resource-efficient solutions in urban areas, this study aims to investigate how sustainable design principles can be integrated into the planning and development of urban housing projects. The research will focus on identifying and analyzing various sustainable design strategies that can be applied to enhance the sustainability and livability of urban housing developments. The first chapter of this research provides an introduction to the study, presenting the background of the research topic, defining the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and key definitions of terms. Subsequently, Chapter Two comprises a comprehensive literature review that examines existing knowledge and research on sustainable design strategies for urban housing developments. This chapter will analyze ten key items related to sustainable design principles and their application in urban housing projects. Chapter Three of the research presents the methodology employed in this study, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. This chapter outlines at least eight contents that detail the systematic approach followed to investigate sustainable design strategies in urban housing developments. In Chapter Four, the findings of the research are discussed in depth, highlighting seven key items that emerged from the analysis of sustainable design strategies for urban housing developments. The chapter provides a critical examination of the findings, their implications, and potential recommendations for practical application in urban housing projects. Finally, Chapter Five presents the conclusion and summary of the research project. This section provides a synthesis of the key findings, implications for practice, contributions to existing knowledge, and recommendations for future research in the field of sustainable design strategies for urban housing developments. Overall, this research project aims to contribute valuable insights into the integration of sustainable design principles in urban housing developments, promoting environmentally friendly and socially inclusive approaches to creating sustainable living environments in urban areas.
