This research project aims to investigate the implementation of sustainable design principles in affordable housing developments, with a focus on enhancing environmental performance, improving living conditions, and promoting social equity. The study will explore the current state of sustainable design practices in affordable housing projects, identify key challenges and opportunities, and propose strategies for integrating sustainable design principles into future developments. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive review of the literature related to sustainable design principles, affordable housing developments, and the intersection of these two areas. The review covers key concepts, theories, best practices, case studies, and relevant empirical research to provide a solid theoretical foundation for the study. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, including research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations.
