Sustainable design strategies have become increasingly vital in the field of architecture, particularly in urban housing developments where the challenges of population growth, resource scarcity, and environmental degradation are most pronounced. This research project aims to investigate and analyze various sustainable design strategies that can be implemented in urban housing developments to promote environmental sustainability, enhance quality of life, and address pressing social issues. The study will begin with a comprehensive examination of the background of sustainable design in architecture, highlighting key concepts and principles that underpin sustainable urban housing developments. This will be followed by a detailed exploration of the current problems and challenges faced in urban housing developments, such as rapid urbanization, energy inefficiency, and social inequality. The objectives of the study are to identify effective sustainable design strategies that can be applied in urban housing developments, assess their impact on environmental, social, and economic aspects, and provide recommendations for future implementation.
