This research explores the opportunities and challenges associated with repurposing abandoned industrial structures to meet the evolving needs of modern society while respecting their historical significance. The study investigates the adaptive reuse strategies, design principles, and best practices that can guide architects and urban planners in transforming these neglected assets into vibrant and functional spaces that contribute to the cultural and economic vitality of cities. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms.
