Abstract
This research study investigates the impact of archaeological sites on tourism development, focusing on a specific case study. The integration of archaeological sites into tourism activities has gained significant attention due to their potential to attract visitors, preserve cultural heritage, and contribute to local economies. The study aims to explore the relationship between archaeological sites and tourism development, analyzing the benefits, challenges, and implications for sustainable tourism practices. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review to establish the theoretical framework and identify key concepts related to archaeological tourism. Primary data will be collected through on-site observations, interviews with tourists, local stakeholders, and experts in the field. Additionally, quantitative data will be gathered through surveys to assess visitor perceptions, motivations, and satisfaction levels. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter 2 offers a detailed literature review covering ten key topics related to archaeological sites, tourism development, heritage management, visitor experiences, and sustainable tourism practices. Chapter 3 outlines the research methodology, including research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. The chapter also discusses the limitations and potential challenges encountered during the research process. In Chapter 4, the findings of the study are presented and discussed in detail, addressing seven key themes such as the economic impact of archaeological tourism, visitor perceptions of authenticity, cultural heritage preservation, community involvement, infrastructure development, marketing strategies, and policy implications. The analysis of findings aims to provide insights into the dynamics of the relationship between archaeological sites and tourism development.
