Abstract
The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the increasing demand for high-quality animal protein globally. Broiler chickens are one of the most widely consumed sources of poultry meat, and their growth performance is influenced by various factors, including feeding strategies. This research project aimed to investigate the effects of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The study was conducted over a period of 12 weeks, with a total of 200 broiler chickens allocated to four treatment groups a control group fed a standard commercial diet and three experimental groups fed with different feeding strategies. The feeding strategies included varying levels of protein, energy, and nutrient supplementation to evaluate their impact on growth parameters such as body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and mortality rate. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, the problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of terms. Chapter Two consists of a comprehensive literature review covering ten key studies related to broiler chicken feeding strategies and growth performance. In Chapter Three, the research methodology is detailed, including the experimental design, sample collection, data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations. The chapter also outlines the selection criteria for broiler chickens, feeding protocols, and data collection methods. Eight sub-sections provide a detailed account of the research methodology employed in this study. Chapter Four presents the findings of the research, discussing the effects of different feeding strategies on the growth performance of broiler chickens. The chapter includes an analysis of growth parameters, feed efficiency, and mortality rates across the treatment groups. The results are discussed in relation to the existing literature, highlighting the implications for broiler chicken production practices. Finally, Chapter Five offers a conclusion and summary of the research project, summarizing the key findings, discussing the implications for the poultry industry, and providing recommendations for future research.
