Project Abstract

Abstract
The poultry industry plays a crucial role in meeting the growing demand for animal protein worldwide. In this study, the impact of different feeding strategies on growth performance in broiler chickens was investigated to optimize production efficiency and promote animal welfare. The research was conducted through a series of experiments using a randomized complete block design with four treatments comprising different feeding strategies, including conventional commercial feed, organic feed, insect-based feed, and plant-based feed. The study aimed to evaluate the effects of these feeding strategies on growth performance parameters such as feed conversion ratio, body weight gain, and mortality rate. Additionally, the research assessed the economic feasibility and environmental sustainability of each feeding strategy to provide practical insights for poultry producers. Results from the experiments revealed significant differences in growth performance among the feeding treatments. Broiler chickens fed with insect-based feed exhibited the best growth performance, characterized by higher body weight gain and lower feed conversion ratio compared to other groups. The organic feed group also showed promising results in terms of growth performance, while the plant-based feed group demonstrated the lowest growth performance indicators. Economic analysis indicated that although insect-based feed was associated with higher production costs, the improved growth performance and feed efficiency resulted in higher profitability compared to conventional commercial feed. Furthermore, the environmental impact assessment revealed that insect-based feed and plant-based feed had lower carbon footprints compared to conventional commercial feed, highlighting the potential for sustainable poultry production practices. In conclusion, this research demonstrates that different feeding strategies have a significant impact on growth performance in broiler chickens. The findings suggest that incorporating alternative feed ingredients such as insects and organic materials can enhance growth performance and promote sustainability in the poultry industry. Future studies should focus on optimizing feed formulations and production practices to further improve the efficiency and sustainability of broiler chicken production systems.
