Project Abstract

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the world today, with far-reaching consequences for human society, ecosystems, and the global economy. As the Earth's climate continues to warm, we are witnessing increasingly severe weather patterns, rising sea levels, and the degradation of natural habitats. These changes pose a significant threat to food security, biodiversity, and the livelihoods of millions of people, particularly in vulnerable regions. This project aims to explore the potential of sustainable agroforestry practices as a means of mitigating the impacts of climate change. Agroforestry, the integration of trees and shrubs with crops and/or livestock, has long been recognized as a promising approach to sustainable land use, offering a range of ecological, economic, and social benefits. By strategically combining the cultivation of trees and agricultural crops, agroforestry systems can enhance carbon sequestration, improve soil fertility, increase biodiversity, and provide a diversified source of income for farmers.
