The advancement of mobile technology has transformed various sectors, including agriculture, by providing new opportunities for knowledge sharing and communication among smallholder farmers in rural communities. This research aims to assess the impact of mobile technology on knowledge sharing practices among smallholder farmers and investigate its implications for agricultural extension services. The study will be conducted in rural communities to examine how mobile technology is utilized for accessing agricultural information, sharing best practices, and enhancing communication networks among farmers. The research will adopt a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. Through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions, the study will gather insights from smallholder farmers, agricultural extension officers, and technology providers on their experiences with mobile technology for knowledge sharing in agriculture. Additionally, data analysis will include statistical measures to quantify the extent of mobile technology usage, the types of information exchanged, and the perceived benefits and challenges associated with its adoption. The literature review will explore existing studies on mobile technology in agriculture, knowledge sharing practices, and the role of agricultural extension services in rural development. By synthesizing previous research, the study aims to identify gaps in the literature and contribute new knowledge to the field of agricultural extension and mobile technology integration. The research methodology will involve sampling rural communities, designing survey questionnaires, conducting interviews, and organizing focus group discussions to collect primary data. Data analysis will employ both qualitative thematic analysis and quantitative methods to derive meaningful insights from the research findings. The study will also consider ethical considerations in data collection and maintain confidentiality and anonymity of participants. The discussion of findings will present a comprehensive analysis of the data collected, highlighting the key themes, patterns, and trends observed in the research. The implications of the study results will be discussed in relation to improving agricultural extension services, enhancing knowledge sharing practices, and promoting sustainable agricultural development in rural communities.
