Abstract
The integration of mobile technology in agriculture has revolutionized the way agricultural extension services are delivered to rural farming communities. This research project aims to assess the impact of mobile technology on agricultural extension services in rural farming communities. The study will investigate how the use of mobile technology has enhanced access to information, improved communication channels, and increased efficiency in delivering agricultural extension services to farmers in remote areas. The research will be conducted using a mixed-method approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Data will be collected through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions with extension agents, farmers, and agricultural stakeholders in selected rural farming communities. The data will be analyzed using statistical tools and thematic analysis to identify patterns and trends in the impact of mobile technology on agricultural extension services. The literature review will provide a comprehensive overview of existing studies on the use of mobile technology in agriculture and its impact on agricultural extension services. The review will cover relevant topics such as the benefits and challenges of mobile technology adoption in agriculture, the role of mobile applications in disseminating agricultural information, and the effectiveness of mobile communication in rural areas. The research methodology will outline the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures to be used in the study. It will also describe the study population, sampling criteria, and data collection instruments that will be employed to gather information from participants. The findings of the study will be presented and discussed in Chapter Four, highlighting the key outcomes and implications of the research. The discussion will focus on the impact of mobile technology on improving access to agricultural information, enhancing communication between extension agents and farmers, and increasing the efficiency of agricultural extension services in rural communities. In conclusion, this research project will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the impact of mobile technology on agricultural extension services in rural farming communities. The study findings will provide valuable insights for policymakers, extension agencies, and agricultural stakeholders on how to leverage mobile technology to enhance agricultural extension services and improve agricultural productivity in rural areas.
