This research project explores the potential benefits and challenges of utilizing social media for agricultural extension services in rural communities. The aim of this study is to investigate how social media platforms can be effectively leveraged to disseminate relevant agricultural information, provide extension services, and facilitate communication between agricultural extension agents and farmers in rural areas. The research will focus on identifying the key factors that influence the adoption and use of social media for agricultural extension services, as well as the impact of social media on knowledge sharing, agricultural practices, and overall agricultural development in rural communities. The study will adopt a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from both agricultural extension agents and farmers in selected rural communities. The research will also involve a comprehensive review of existing literature on the use of social media in agricultural extension services to provide a theoretical framework for the study. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the understanding of the potential of social media in improving agricultural extension services in rural communities. By identifying the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of social media, this study aims to provide insights that can inform the development of effective strategies for utilizing social media to enhance agricultural extension services in rural areas.
